What Color Are You?

Personality colors are an important factor when prospecting for your business. When you talk to people on the phone, do you feel tongue tied as to what to say about your business? Don't feel bad, I did too and then felt dejected after hanging up. I thought there has to be a better way to break the ice and get comfortable with the prospects to where I can talk about my business with ease.

One of the weird things I found is if I have a script in front of me to work with, once I hear the tone in the prospect's "hello" that script goes right out the window. And before I know it, I'm on the phone with them for over an hour chatting like we were friends for a long time. And in between topics, information about the candles gets mentioned and both of our view points are shared.

Basically, what you need to do is come up with 3-4 questions to ask people before you even speak about your business to a prospect. These questions are "qualifiers" for you to be able to see if this person is right for your team. Then you just listen to what they have have to say, a lot of information can be gleaned just from listening, not talking. This is a good way to get to know them without being invasive or sounding like a sales pitch.

So, what are the colors? The colors are Yellow, Blue, Green, and Red. I'm going to give you a basic sketch of each one. Yellows are the teams builders, they love people, the nurturers, the caregivers, and they make up 35% of the population. The Blues are the fun people, they like to travel, see the big picture, make money fast, and if it isn't fun they aren't doing it, they make up 15% of the population. The Greens are the analyzers, they like data, need websites to see and policies and procedures, and they make up 35% of the population. The Reds are hard fast sellers who do great in Corproate America, everything is about the money, and titles/credentials, they make up 15% of the population. So, since the Yellows and the Greens make up 70% of the population combined they would be excellent to get into your business.

Books That Make You Think Positive

Here are a few books I've been reading that have helped me in my personal growth and keep my positve thinking energy going. If you can get your hands on these, your life will change for the better. You can check out Amazon.com or your nearest book store should have them.

Think and Grow Rich - by Napoleon Hill

Napoleon Hill's Keys to Success - The 17 Principles of Personal Achievement - by Napoleon Hill

What To Say When You Talk To Yourself - by Shad Helmstetter, Ph.D

The Magic of Thinking Big - by David J. Schwartz, Ph.D

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind - by Angelica Eberle Wagner

The Dream Giver - by Bruce Wilkinson (I'm currently reading)

I did a little test on myself in the last few months. I started out reading these books, reading an hour every night before I went to bed. Just a few chapters in that hour. I actually started feeling pretty good about my future and what I wanted out of my business. Then for about a month, I got sidetracked with all the daily duties of being a Mom to 3 kids and going to the beach so they can play. I didn't get to read every night like I used to and I've come to realize that I haven't been quite happy or as energetic as I was before. So starting a few days ago with my new book, The Dream Giver, I read one hour every night even if I don't get to bed by 2am. I'm feeling much better and have my goals back on track ready to take action.

One of the things I learned from the books is that what you read before going to bed get programmed into the subconscious and makes the body take action. So if what you're reading is positive stuff, then you will take positive action when you wake up. This also works for negative stuff too but we won't go there because you shouldn't be thinking about negative stuff anyway.

Imagine if you told yourself everday in the mirror, "I'm the best in all that I do because I'm really an awesome person." And then nod your head, say "YES" and smile. What would happen? I know you'd feel 100% better about yourself after awhile and your actions will show it. They say a smile is contagious, well same goes for positive attitude. If you had a positive attitude, wouldn't more people want to hang around with you and want the same thing? Give it 2 weeks of doing this exercise every day and/or night, and watch the transformation. If you don't see or feel anything, you have my permission to come back here and tell me.

If you seem "lost" in any of these books, I have a free teleconference you can go on that will help you understand more clearly. Talk about having an "AHA!" moment. LOL Or, try downloading the e-book listed on the right and open your mind to a new way of thinking. :-)

Article - The Power of Candlelight

THE POWER OF CANDLELIGHT

In this day and age, everything is about health and wellness. The products range from nutritional, mentoring/self growth and soy/veg candles. Yes, soy/veg candles because they’re virtually soot-free and natural waxes are used to create a healthier environment in the homes of candle lovers.

Let’s talk about the simple but powerful qualities that candles provide for enjoyment. The scent of a candle is what usually compels people to burn one in their home or office. Some of the fondest memories are conjured up through the sense of smell. For example, what memory comes to mind when you smell a hot apple pie scented candle? Some will say they think of Grandma baking a hot apple around the Thanksgiving or Christmas holiday when they were younger. The scent Buttercream reminds me of the memorable weddings where the cake was too delicious to pass up and ditching the diet.

Another important aspect is the wide range of reasons to burn a candle. Many people talk about how it relaxes or enhances the mood. A small flame brings about a sense of serene tranquility and peacefulness to a room. Spas use them to help make their clients’ sessions more enjoyable. The different aromatherapy scents are used to enhance relaxation, clarity, energy and a sense of well being. The flame itself creates an ambiance in the room needed for proper meditation techniques.

Here’s something that’s been around for ages but not consciously thought about when lighting a candle. The spiritual connection to the universe and to the soul. It is widely believed by many psychics, healers and spiritualists that the flame is the only non-artificial light the spirit world can see on our plane of existence.

I personally believe that if you speak your wishes and desires over a lit candle, a “vibe” is being put out to the universe and spirit world to help you achieve your desires.
Now that being said, picture in your mind this scenario. You walk into a church, any church or place of worship in your town. Usually, off to the left or right side or near the entrance is a section of burning votives. People have lit them in prayer whether it be for themselves or for a loved one. Think of this church being filled with people from all walks of life coming together to pray and celebrate. Imagine the power of thought and prayer of everybody under one roof with all these votives burning at once. That is a lot of “vibes” reaching out to the universe. The people walk out of the church feeling empowered and energized because they have been subconsciously uplifted. It is no wonder that they repeat this activity every week.

It is amazing how many transformations occur within all of us just from our candlelight moments. All these qualities of well being are achieved through the sense of smell, the mind and soul just from a lit candle. Next time you light a candle, watch as the growing flame stabilizes and how much better you feel at the same time. One tip to remember, after extinguishing the flame, dip the wick into the melted wax to eliminate the smoke.

Something New To Learn

I finally got myself a blog after hearing about the good experiences people are having with it. I feel like a newbie all over again. LOL But this a good thing because it gives me something new to just "wing it" and see what it does. So now, instead of writing long emails and my thoughts on scrap paper, I can do it here and practice my writing skills for upcoming articles I'd like to post.

If anyone has something new they've learned and would like to post here, you're more than welcome to do so. :-) As they say, Knowledge is Power. And one faster way to do that is learning from other people.

This is definately going to be an experience for me. :-)
